Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I've been reading the forum for while now trying to decide where to start with IT certification and after reading loads of posts have decided to go with A+ which is what most think is the the best starting place. Got my Mike Meyers book a few days ago and it's scarily big - wasn't expecting that as the starter quali!!!

    Welcome to CF! :biggrin

Whilst The MM book may be big, apparently it makes really easy reading so I'm sure you'll fly through it.

    Welcome aboard!

Meyer's book is scary to look at but remarkably readable.

And, of course, if you need any help and encouragement you've come to the right place! :biggrin

You know what they say, the bigger they are, the better the doorstop it makes once you've passed those exam(s).

Welcome to CF, good luck on your route... :)

Greetings, tobylerone. Welcome to CertForums. Yes, the Meyers book is huge and it is so *because* the A+ is an entry-level cert. Entry level quals usually cover a broad base of information as opposed to drilling down on a very specific subject. If you have little or no techncial experience, it'll open up a whole new world for you. Good luck. :)
