    Hi David,

    Have replied to your PM.

Just to let others know ( CIW Certifications

Any trainer providing CIW exam versions 410, 420, 425 should be shot. As 410 is now 510 and has been since about May last year. 420, 425 expire at the end of June this year.

If you are looking at a CIW course you need to ensure that the exams covered, for Master CIW Designer, are 1D0-510,520 and 525.

The new content and subjects covered in these course are the latest web courses available, a lot of you advocate self study on this site, which works for some but not for all. Would you like to learn 11 - 12 years knowledge in 12- 18 months or are you going to persist and do it in 5 years. Education is an individual thing, so let people make there own decisions based upon un-biased opinions.

Thats my own opinion, and as send via PM the course you were looking at, based upon what you have said does not require you to do the ECDL. CLAIT is virtually the same qualification. MCAD and MCSD are programming courses and you have to be into programming before even thinking about them.

The CIW course are similar to CompTIA in that they are vendor neutral, maybe not in some of the design side - Macromedia - but that is the design tool of the top people. The topics covered by the new exams made me gasp, as the exams are now so much harder as the amount of info you cover really does go a long way. Nothing "rocket science" just a lot of stuff to take in.

    Hello and Welcome

Be very careful with UK -IT training. They claim a Guarantee job of £20K but read the small print before signing. My mate didn't and he has been kicking himself everyday.

You must take the first position offered by them. Any location any place. So if you have to move to Scotland then you have to go...... you signed the contract.

There are lot's of websites out there with feedback, Certforums has them under the search index. Blagger.com is another and I think ciao reviews has some as well.

    Just be careful!

    Later Andy

What an insult that some people think Perth is capital of OZ?

Well thank you again good people of the CF forum.. You really have been a lot of help to an uninformed egit like me.. and with things like this it's only the actual professionals out there doing it who know the real deal and all the pit falls.. However I'm suprised a lot of you didn't know the capital of Oz is Canberra!.. Unless you were being sarcasticly humorous.. I dunno.. Anyway Thank you again all of you... too many to mention (god this is like an oscars speech) but especially to Ucheekymonkey who let me know about his friends experience the aforementioned "training provider".. Ah well back to square one I guess to find a good registered training provider as I would like to do it with this CDL now its all set up and ready to go.. I must admit though I'm not sure which ones are trustworthy now but I guess I'll avoid the ones with dumb ass aptitude tests..
    God bless! :D

    Welcome dude 8)

Have you ever heard of the training camp?

    http://www.trainingcamp.co.uk/uk/flashed.asp

Its like a bootcamp, you live, eat, breath the course your doing. you also live on site.

I stayed there for a week and did the A+ and Network+, you should check the website. I've go nothing but praise about this company, have a read through the testimonials. The one bit of advice i would give you if you went for them is to probably spend a couple of months preparing (reading, getting clued up basically). coz once your there, it's going to be early mornings and late nights.

But check them out there definately worth a look. :thumbleft
