I am new on this forum so I will write a couple of words about myself.

I am a skilled car Mechanic and 26.5 :biggrin years old. I have some very basic IT cert (from Hungary so I think it is equivalent to ECDL). I have been looking for my place in restaurants hotels and factories in the last few years but I did not really liked these jobs. I am working as engine assembler at the moment but I think it is wasted time.

I have been doing alrite maintaning and updating my and my mom`s PC and I enjoyed doing it. So I suppose IT could be a more enjoyable path for me.

I have looked the opinions about the training providers but they really pricy to be honest. So I am just about to start self studying and prapare myself for a+ from the mike meyers book and see how it goes. I dont know what area I would be the most interested but I think I still got time to decide being at the begining. It would be helpful if someone could tell me what exams should I take to start and what to follow.

What do you think am I not too old starting IT studies hoping to be able to get IT job in the next couple of years?

*** I have just recieved an e-mail from the HNC in computing tutor saying my qualifications are fine for entry to the HNC course. It is quiet cheap maybe that would be better for me rather than the other way?

Greetings, Kal. Welcome to CertForums. Do I think you are too old at the age of 26 to start IT studies? Heck no. I started my studies and a carrier change in my mid-40s so I don't think 26 is old at all. :)
