Hi, I stumbled on to the site the other day looking for info on the A+.
I'm Mark from Cheshire. I'm currently a mainframe operator for a major bank & will probably end up being outsourced/ offshored/ displaced/ sacked in a couple of years.

So my plan is to get my A+, get a part time PC business up & running ready to go full time in a couple of years. If the part-time stuff works out then some of the money would be put towards further certs - the MSDST looks like the next step after A+

Any help gratefully accepted.

To answer SimonV's question - hkymre is a work userid - I tend to use it on forums because Mark or variations are normally taken & hkymre never is.
