Have IT support workers always been in demand?

Been in IT 4 years now and tbh I’ve never been short on finding desktop support work, I have had my pick tbh, with getting interviews on demand.. and turning work away.

Was there ever a time when the market wasn’t desperate for IT support staff? It’s just I’ve not seen any shortage of available jobs for helpdesk/desktop support type jobs in my short time of being in IT.

    Support is always needed

    So yeah

Also alot of people are capable of doing support ( technical wise ) but their soft skills are not

Finding someone with a good mix is hard

There is such a high level of staff turnover in desktop support and 1/2nd line as people seem to want to progress to the next level. Expect to see plenty jobs advertised.
