Yup, 10 years today it graced our screens!
10 bloody years, I feel actually, we have come quite along way, despite the interface remaining somewhat similar throughout the period

If your still using this, go out and stop being a cheapskate

if your still supporting this, get a new bloody job, even MS washed thier hands of it :)

I would say our thoughts go with those of you still stuck supporting it, but that would be a lie, because my thoughts stay as far away from win 95 as possible :D

I remember when my parents bought out first ever PC...it had Windows 95...back in those days it was the in the in thing to have...now look where we are 10 years later...but saying that we didnt have our first PC until about 1997...one game I remember very well from Win 95 era was MDK and I think the main character of the game was called Kurt? And what was all that big head thing about? if I remember right it was the first game to grace real good 3D graphics of its time...anyone remember this at all?

aye it was hardly the first
    even not the first popular
it was just the first radical departure and the move to a multi threaded OS for MS

Win 3.1 and 3.11 was a gui (very popular)
    Win 2 was a GUI

Apple and Xerox both had GUIs by then too

How many memories does this bring back, Noel?

Now, now Freddy. For many people, Windows 95 was their first experience with accessable, user-friendly computing. You're thinking like a geek and not an end user. :)

Tripwire45 mate, that brings back loads of memories...thank you for that...it was in fact after we got our first PC with Win95 that i really got into computers, they were still using Win 3.11 at college at this stage...think they updated them at about 1998? kinda funny really...haha :D
