...so what about Easter's origins and Christmas's origins? Not the Christian versions... but the ones that were celebrated before the Christians came along? The Christians celebrated their version on those days specifically for the purpose of reaching the people who celebrated pagan holidays on those days.

Meh, I use Halloween for what the Lord can use it for: an opportunity to reach people. And... I have fun while doing so. So I don't honor anything or anyone else but the Lord by playing "dress up".

That said, you're not wrong for your decision. You simply choose to handle the situation differently. It's all good.

yep true, the original Halloween is know as the Festival of Samhain and is originally from pagan Ireland, after a few hundered years it was then called All hallows eve and eventually halloween.

 

Uh...don't celebrate Christmas and Easter either. :digging himself a deeper hole by the minute:

 

Well, today is 'All Hallows' / 'All Saints' day.

This is a day for thinking about and remembering "all men of good will".

I will be thinking of Mother Teresa

...and one my Grandads who served in the RAF and died a few years after.

 

Missing out on lots of opportunities to connect with those who need to hear, my friend.

 

tou guys actually do have fun on halloween. Well over here we dont mark that. Wish i could always do halloween....:-<
