Looks like I'm stuffed as there's no trains through that make it an easy journey. Coming back I'd have an hour bus ride from the station at Southampton Airport to Poole as there doesn't seem to be a train running

No wonder this country's gone to the dogs ! (can you tell I'm having a rant now ?!)

What the heck is parking gonna cost me in central Brum ? (and I HATE driving in cities)

Ok, spoke to a m8 of mine last night who does tons of travelling and he pointed out I could drive to the Southampton station and park there and then I wouldn't have to mess about with bus rides - silly me not to think of this; must have been my rant clouding my mind

So, I'm assuming I need to end up at Birmingham New Street, yes ?

In which case I'm looking more definite. Rail fare will be about £35 return and I don't mind the driving bit and parking for the day.

I can get there around mid-day and would have to leave 9/9.30 'ish.

So what's the SP ? Where do we meet/eat etc. ? Obviously won't be getting into any serious drinking cos of the drive home but happy to come up and meet some of you at last !

 

I'd love to come but I'll be all of two days into my new job and totally skint. Hopefully I can make the next one!

Well, it looks like im going to have to pull out. Its really not worth the expense for me this time, especially when there are only a few confirmed.
What happened to the GTG days when we used to get into double figures? Just seems like people cant be bothered no more

 

Yep, we did try mate, was looking forward to catching up aswell, bit skint now though coz ive just bought parts to build an i7 beast If there had been a few more then i would have definately been down, ya know me, im not one to miss a few beers but it really isnt worth the expense this time coz it would just be me and Dawn after you lot left (i know i can rely on dawn for a few late bevvies)
