    Afternoon all,

Sorry about lack of posts recently, have been busy in my new job.

Anyways, back to the topic in hand, Does anyone know any sites that document Group Policies and the stuff you can do with them and also books that could be of use?

I would like to know how to block policies and stuff like that aswell?

    Thanks in advance all.

Your best bet would be to open up Group Policy Manager on a Windows 2003 server and have a look at all the various settings. When you highlight a setting its gives you a detailed explanation of what it does.

Before deploying a policy test is first! :biggrin

Like Sparky said, the GP MMC is a great tool (GPMC). It even has RSOP (Resultant Set of Policy) modeling to plan out the policy effects.

Actually, there's a webcast series that ended yesterday on Group Policy, as well as some in 2004 that dealt with the GPMC in particular. I've seen literally hundreds of these things, and while most are barely useful, these are very good. Have fun!

You can download this funky excel document that has all the GPO's for Windows Server 2003 here.

The good thing about this is it's organised over several sheets to break down the GPO's into their seperate areas. It also gives an explanation of each GPO, the registry settings, the policy path, the operating system it's supported on and more!!!
