Hi all,

I'm Charlie, currently a chef looking to get out of catering. Also posess a somewhat useless degree in philosophy (random I know!!).

Anyway, always been pretty handy with computers and while I was at Uni set up and maintained various home networks, (mostly for games and shared internet access however!) so decided that I would pursue a career in IT. I'm just starting out really and dipping my toes in the water, trying to discover exactly what's involved and with who.

Having done a little scouting around, the full MCSE course seems to appeal apart from the hefty sum involved but just trying to learn a little more and would be very grateful for any information anyone can offer.

from what ive read here the mcse is an extremely hard course and with no real world experience it could be hard to get employed after it.

i think most people go for comptia a+ and network + as entry level certs just to test the water before going on to their chosen field but,each to their own!
