They had originally planned a family barbecue for this afternoon (postponed until next week), so they should be here by now. Probably just jet lagged out of their minds and meeting and greeting the local fam. When Ryan's recovered enough to get online, he'll flag us.

I was updating twitter (which i linked to), which is linked to my facebook profile as well
but I can do that via SMS, no way was i turning on the iphone data roaming to get to the forum, last time it cost me 200 quid (O2 are quite literally, rapists!)

Landed at about 16:20 PDT yesterday, flight was about 20 mins early
anyone who has flown long haul to Seattle will appreciate that immigration is about 100 yards away, not the other side of the airport like heathrow/gatwick/mostotherplaces, which is nice!

Immigration was a breeze, albiet a little longer than usual, they took OLD school fingerprints (you know, the kind with INK!) for my green card form, told me those are taking 6 - 8 months at the moment (wow) and asked me a few questions, when all is said and done, the visa means nothing till you get your stamp from these guys, they really make the final call
All was well, and I was stamped and in by 17:00, this time as a legal permenant resident
My bags were already there due to the time, grabbed them and rechecked then went and had a few beers in the bar waiting for my connection

the connection left on time for once, and gave free local microbrew, which this time was a dark IPA ale, oh hell yeah!
I landed 20 mins early, at 22:12 MDT just as the fireworks started to kick off
Gotta hit the SSA on monday to expidite my SSN, and BestBuy today to get a PSU and some thermal compound ;)
