Goals for 2025 - What are yours?

Hi All,

It's tradition, setting goals; whether it's a new certificate, a new hobby/craft, visit a country you have never been to or even if it's to read that one (paper/digital) book. Maybe another member has done it and can help you, maybe you can give advice to another member

So at the moment, my goals of 2025 is as follows:

1. Complete my MSc in Cyber Security
2. Start Jujitsu (in-conjunction with Tang Soo Do)
3. Got a few projects going on at work, including: New phone system across the whole organisation (5 sites), replacement of all internet lines, the departmental move of IT Services
4. Read more (or listen, got an Audible subscription now)

So, what's yours?

Thanks Ken, you and the other mods are the corner stones of Certforums. Always have been, always will be. Typically for you, you have some excellent stretch goals there that you'll no doubt achieve. I am a big believer in putting yourself out there and stating goals to help you stick to them!

1. Pass the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Exam
2. Contiune learning Spanish with a view to becoming fluent
3. Huge one for me this... learn the piano. Like Spanish, its been on my to do list for decades. I can play a little, but I plan to buy a digital keyboard after Christmas and get cracking, like Spanish, some time every day
4. On the job learning and training is huge for me right now as I moved from Infrastructure to business transformation and processes.

I forgot about these...

Learning German at the moment, however Duolingo only goes up to B1. May have to consider moving back to Busuu in the future.
Not learning the piano, but did get an electric guitar that I started to learn, going to try to pick it up again, if I have time...

 

Oh nice and had no idea that Duo only took you so far. Makes sense. Electric guitar is just beautiful, don't even get me started on watching youtube videos of it, some insane talent, I love to watch these things!

 

It's depends on the language, for German it only goes up to up B1, whereas my wife she is doing French, and her language path goes up to B2.

In regard to certs I’m not too sure as I spend most of my time speaking to suppliers now and checking commercial terms.

In saying that I did upgrade a few domain controllers to Server 2022 this year just to get back to the fun days of doing IT.

I am looking at ITIL and Project+ just now and maybe SC-900 if I can get time.

Away from the work stuff trying to learn French – did go through a good run of learning some each day but then work commitments took over – need to get a better balance next year if I can. Hope to retire to France so if I can least order a beer then all will be good!

An awesome goal. Mate of mine retired to France. Loved it. His house is lovely. Like a modernised barn thing. Fields all around. Looks like a nice peaceful life
