Joe, I think if you apply the quantum entanglement theory along with the possibility of Schrodinger's cat also existing in the 4th and 5th dimensions, you'll find that Fizzicks has, and does not have 3 Z's in it.

How's it all going for you? When I did physics I found it quite enjoyable, didn't understand much of it but quite enjoyable nonetheless.:biggrin

I would say that provided you have a really, really genuine interest in the subject then go for it. It is a very challenging course, the TMA's and iCMA's will make you really think about the problem at hand. My math is terrible but you do find you have hidden stores of intelligence you never knew you had to find solutions to the problems

It'd be interesting to see the modular breakdowns. I've been reading a lot about quantum and chaos really - that side of things fascinates me. So I may well be safe on it!

Got to get through my current Latin TMAs and exam in June first though!

Scene 9: Brian Learns to Conjugate
    The sketch:

CENTURION: What's this, then? 'Romanes Eunt Domus'? 'People called Romanes they go the house'?

BRIAN: It-- it says, 'Romans, go home'.

CENTURION: No, it doesn't. What's Latin for 'Roman'? Come on!

    BRIAN: Aah!

    CENTURION: Come on!

    BRIAN: 'R-- Romanus'?

    CENTURION: Goes like...?

    BRIAN: 'Annus'?

CENTURION: Vocative plural of 'annus' is...?

    BRIAN: Eh. 'Anni'?

CENTURION: 'Romani'. 'Eunt'? What is 'eunt'?

    BRIAN: 'Go'. Let--

CENTURION: Conjugate the verb 'to go'.

BRIAN: Uh. 'Ire'. Uh, 'eo'. 'Is'. 'It'. 'Imus'. 'Itis'. 'Eunt'.

    CENTURION: So 'eunt' is...?

BRIAN: Ah, huh, third person plural, uh, present indicative. Uh, 'they go'.

CENTURION: But 'Romans, go home' is an order, so you must use the...?

    BRIAN: The... imperative!

    CENTURION: Which is...?

BRIAN: Umm! Oh. Oh. Um, 'i'. 'I'!

    CENTURION: How many Romans?

BRIAN: Ah! 'I'-- Plural. Plural. 'Ite'. 'Ite'.

    CENTURION: 'Ite'.

    BRIAN: Ah. Eh.

    CENTURION: 'Domus'?

    BRIAN: Eh.

    CENTURION: Nominative?

    BRIAN: Oh.

CENTURION: 'Go home'? This is motion towards. Isn't it, boy?

BRIAN: Ah. Ah, dative, sir! Ahh! No, not dative! Not the dative, sir! No! Ah! Oh, the... accusative! Accusative! Ah! 'Domum', sir! 'Ad domum'! Ah! Oooh! Ah!

CENTURION: Except that 'domus' takes the...?

    BRIAN: The locative, sir!

    CENTURION: Which is...?!

    BRIAN: 'Domum'.

    CENTURION: 'Domum'.

    BRIAN: Aaah! Ah.

    CENTURION: 'Um'. Understand?

    BRIAN: Yes, sir.

CENTURION: Now, write it out a hundred times.

BRIAN: Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caesar, sir.

CENTURION: Hail Caesar. If it's not done by sunrise, I'll cut your balls off.

BRIAN: Oh, thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caesar and everything, sir! Oh. Mmm!

Right, quick up date on the progress, just logged into the OU site and what do you know I PASSED the first year of the Fizzicks Degree. Not bad for a thicko and studying only a fraction of what I ought to have studied, still the hard bits are still to come. I am doing nothing but Maths next year. Only another 5 years to go and I can smash atoms and stuff

Congrats for the 1st year pass! Great stuff...
I did modules with the OU (as a replacement for the A levels I haven't got!) in Physics, Maths & Astronomy before going on to University College London and Studying for my degree in Physics & Astronomy - some astounding stuff there, it has to be said.

The maths is ALWAYS going to be the difference between a pass and a fail, it's the hardest part by far...

    Well done.

I just got my certificate in computing and higher education.
Not bad for 10 years study (on and off)...

Gone off the rails again now though what with work and all.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been running around like a nutter for the past week and a bit

The module that I have just finished is "S104 Exploring science", it's not 100% Physics there are elements of it in there, it's a mixture of subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology. It's not a tough course just a lot of work to complete every month, books to read and assignments to complete. It's a 60 point course and one that I had to take.

The next module I am doing is a 30 pointer Maths Module called "MST121", I will probably spend the next two years getting up to degree level maths to tackle the hard core Physics math that will be coming.

Not sure whether you're aware but as an OU Student, you can get half price Microsoft exams... just select the 72-* series instead of the 70-* series when you go to book the exam :-)

Just remember that you have to bring proof that you're a student when you sit the exam, otherwise the testing centre can/will turn you away, and in those cases you will not be refunded.

Goodluck! MST121 isn't too bad but MS221 is little tougher, its basically around A-level maths level.

Would like to take few more courses, but they do take up a lot of your spare time and I also want to pursue other interests...

I did MST121 and MS221 at the same time as Network+ a couple of years back - it was a pretty full on schedule!
Fair play on continuing to study - I got my Physics degree a few year ago now from a physical uni and thoroughly enjoyed it - keep it up! :)
