I haven't got a Mr T quote but I just wanted to say that today I withdrew formally from a postgraduate teacher training course (the course is called a PGCE).

I completed two terms of the one year degree last academic year, but in the process I developed bulimia and lost my voice for several months. I deferred my studies on health grounds - and a place was kept on hold for me to come back to complete the third term this year.

But I made my mind up that choosing to complete the course would be like a turkey voting for Christmas. It's almost impossible to make foreign languages interesting to surly 13-year-olds. I found it horrendously stressful. So I quit the course this afternoon.

    Free at last!

    Regards
    Rick

Glad to see you've sorted out your aims :)

What's the big plan now then Rick?

    Hi Qs

The plan now is to get into a job where I can use my foreign languages, preferably a multinational where there will be the chance of becoming a specialist of some kind.

I would ideally like to end up in some kind of well-paid IT niche - but I know that this is a long road that will require a lot of hard work. The start of that path will involve becoming a MCDST and becoming a Visual Basic specialist. I expect to carry on improving my IT skills for a long long time to come.

    Regards
    Rick

What languages do you know Rick? (this is more personal curiosity than being in a position to be of any assistance... but sorry... I'm a nosy so-and-so ^.^)
