hi all

i feel that ive landed lucky especially in todays economic climate.

its the 2nd week into my service desk role with a major international bank.

the role isnt just based on the phones but also includes deskside support which gives me a break from my desk. we are also encourage to fix rather than just log and escalate which is better and is more challenging.

some of my tasks so far have included but not limited to:

AD user / computer maintenance
AS400 user maintenance
Backup managmement
Avaya maintenance
Server monitoring / maintenance
Call logging
Desktop maintenance

And more

So I'm well pleased and there is loads of room for learning and growth.

I will post more as I become more experienced in the role.

Sounds like you're enjoying it, which is half the battle most of the time.

I take it you've got a good team of people you're working with?

Much chance of work paying for studying and exams? Or is it too early to tell yet?

hi all

its now my 4th week on the job and ive been involved in things like new RIS builds for depts, printer repair, bespoke software installs as well as user acct maintenance.
