After farting around all day with reinstalling windows and all my drivers from scratch I think the problem may have been resolved, I have just finished playing rainbow 6 for one hour and it didnt crash, i still have to get to the next level where the crashes were more prevelant but the signs are looking good.

But its time for bed cos i am quite pissed now

im glad you got time to fart around all day... im trying to squeeze in study time for 622 with my summer job - day and night!

no graphical glitches to report, so that begs the question how were those files missing?

 

thats a good thing, at least the format has potentialy fixed the problem.

 

im just wondering wether the malware i got damaged the files, it did take a lot of doing to wipe it from my system.

 

More than likely, once you have malware you can never be 100% sure you have removed *all* of it.

A re-format, re-install is the only only way of being certain.

 

I agree with Bluerinse. I've been down that road before, bugged the hell out me until I just gave up and formated the computer.

 

Yeah that must have been it, no glitches what so ever when playing games, so everything seems ok (hopefully)
