Oh ok Phoenix, here the link I got it from. It more toward the bottom.

They claim there was panic from the underground trains. However they are showing footage here of someone that had a video cam on one of those trains and they are leaving it in an orderly fashion. Not pushing or shoving each others. You guys are a kewl headed lot and I'm proud of you all.

Aye Mitz, we've handled this sorta stuff throughout the 80s and 90s, and the last few generations practically grew up with it, were aware of it, we go through drills for it, and we generally respond calmly and orderly, it was a way of life here for so long, the intial response was alot more chaotic, but after a while londoners seemed to kick in thier old ways and got it sorted, as mentioned earlier they pretict main transport aterys to be working again by tonight, with the tube lines back hopfully tonight/tomorrow, although effected stations may require a few more days (handy that the weekends coming up)

update: apparantly every mainline station is operational again, and emergancy train schedules are in place to get people home, infact many services are reported as 'near to normal', most stations will be 'as normal' by tomorrow, kings cross is a tad more affected and will await instruction from TfL

Edit: Unlikely that tube services will be restored tonight, fingers crossed for tomorrow morning!
Edit Edit: The MD of London Underground has mentioned his commitment to run as 'normal as possible' service tomorrow across the entire network, so baring the stations affected tubes could perhaps be back in action by the morning rush hour

BTW Mitz, Stagger means just what it says, there asking that we dont all rush home at the same time, stagger our journeys to that of our collegues, and spread the load out whilst the networks return to full capacity over the course of the next few hours, otherwise you will just continue to delay what few buses and trains arrive back on duty first

well that a day it has been...and to think only yesterday London was celebrating hosting the Olympics and now this...talk about bringing you back down to earth with a bump...if another war broke out in the middle east I wouldnt go against it cos every scumbag who is involved in this should get what they deserve...a quick drop and a short stop...(for those who dont know what means watch Pirates of the Caribbean) anyway on a more serious note...my family are all fine and I hope other peoples friends and families are safe...but I do feel sorry for those who may have lost relatives and friends...

Apparently tomorrows Sun will be reporting something in the region of 50 dead, according to the ITV news (bit screwed up that aint it, but there you go!). Although I'll take that with a pinch of salt. The Sun's great for some things, but accurate reporting of serious incidents isnt always one of them.

I must admit, I was shocked, then angerd when I heard about this when i got into work this morning.

All I can say, is I'm glad the terrorist didn't succeed in inflicting huge casualties, or causing a mass panic (it seems, kinda hard to see anything but the news from here). The Londonner's conducted themselve's in a very calm and cool maner, and that sent the correct message to these dog's. If they had all lost there heads and panicked, the terrorist would have felt they succeded.

Today I am proud to say I am a british citizen.

I know from my time spent in the UK, and having lived there when the IRA was active, that London and the rest of the country will recover from this. England was there before these idiots, and will be there long after. If we survived the blitz, we can survive this.

The people who did this cetainly chose the wrong target. Londoner's lived throught the blitz, and all the years of IRA bombings. This will cause an initial shock, but we will get over it, and we will carry on as before. The terrorist will find that whatever they wanted to achieve, will not happen. The british people are too strong, and have been through much worse, and survived.

Please understand that I am not trying to play this down. I realise th magnitude of this event. I feel terrible for those affected by this, and I am deeply sadend for the people who have lost loved one's.

I just know that England is strong, and it will take more than something like this to change the country.

It's called GREAT britian for a reason.

It's a pity that religion is used to justify these terrible acts! If there is a God, surely he/she/it would not condone murder? I think it is sad that these people do this sort of thing in the name of "God"...very sad indeed!

There is a huge difference between a person of faith attempting to live out the will of their creator and those who scream "Allah Akbar" then push a button and blow themselves up, taking as many innocent men, women, and children with them as they can. :x

Can I respectfully ask that maybe now we stop quoting figures for dead and seriously injured - the figures are readily available, and up to date from various media outlets. I think it's taking away from our support of the victims and their survivors if we keep quoting figures, etc.

    Thanks.

yes I do agree with you there Jak...we all have our different media sources that qoute the figures so best just read them there. At least normal service is starting to get back to normal. lets hope those responsible get caught before more innocent casualties are taken.

I feel for anyone involved or with relatives/loved ones involved in any way. I too am greatly angered by this action. There isn't really anything more I can say other than this illustrates once again (my opinion only) how religion and extreme political beliefs associated with and justified by religion can & have caused so much misery and bloodshed in the history of mankind.
Despite my living away from London so not in immediate danger etc. this deeply saddens and angers me. al-Qaeda scum.

Firstly, sorry for not posting sooner.

I am a long way from London now, but I was born and bred there, lived 45 years in South London and have seen more bombings from nutters than I care to remember. The spirit of Londoners will not be affected by this or any other action taken by terrorists. Londoners have to work to support their families, they will continue to go about their duties regardless, there is no fear, we are well hardened to this. I am surprised that there has been a lull since the Peace Process. I guess the IRA can sit back and watch whilst other lunatics kill and maim innocent people whose only crime is to want to commute to work.

I am not a religious person but one of the ten commandments states Thou shall not kill. Shame the fanatics ignore God.

I am really glad all of you are okay, my family and friends are all fine too, thankfully.

    Later,

    Pete
