if it is linked to Al Quaeda i wouldnt like to be in london if i were of arab extraction cause there will be a lot of hysteria and knee jerk reactions from the police.
cant believe its to do with the olimpics it s more to do with the G8 as these things must take weeks and moths to plan.

Apparantly a group claiming to be called "The Secret Orginisation of Islamic Jihad Orginisation in Euope"

they claim London is currently burning in fear, but again are wrong in thier assumptions, Londoners are strong, and have gone through this for 25 years, we will cope, we will return to our normal schedules, and above all we will be unphased by the actions of any fanatics

Many reports are coming in over the wires that the majority of londoners are remaining calm, and are not running and screaming as these fantatics would of wanted

Update, combined figures from various hospitals are still claiming only 2 dead, with approx 200 injured, approx 30 are in a critical state

the traditional stiff British upper lip. It'd take a lot to make Londoners tremble in fear - my sister said that after ten years in the capital, this is sadly something you get used to. They have drills where she works for these kind of things.

Everywhere else is panicking though. I live and work just outside Coventry, and they've closed down the outer ring road and bus station because two suspect packages have been found.

91.5fm Capital FM who are doing running live coverage.

they are radio station based in the centre of London who just 5 minutes ago confirmed that "20 currently confirmed dead and more than 150 injured"

Obviously I dont have concrete faith in this, simply repeating what they are saying however they will be getting their intel from reporters of various NewsGroups.

    Statement claiming London attacks
The BBC has located an Islamist website that has published a 200-word statement issued by an organisation saying it carried out the London bombings.
The organisation calls itself the Secret Organisation Group of al-Qaeda [literally the base] of Jihad Organisation in Europe.

The group not previously been heard of. The website has previously carried statements purporting to be from al-Qaeda. It is not possible to verify such claims published on the web.

This is the full text of the statement.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate, may peace be upon the cheerful one and undaunted fighter, Prophet Muhammad, God's peace be upon him.

Nation of Islam and Arab nation: Rejoice for it is time to take revenge against the British Zionist Crusader government in retaliation for the massacres Britain is committing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The heroic mujahideen have carried out a blessed raid in London. Britain is now burning with fear, terror and panic in its northern, southern, eastern, and western quarters.

We have repeatedly warned the British Government and people. We have fulfilled our promise and carried out our blessed military raid in Britain after our mujahideen exerted strenuous efforts over a long period of time to ensure the success of the raid.

We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all the Crusader governments that they will be punished in the same way if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. He who warns is excused.

God says: "You who believe: If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly."

Sky news are reporting 45 dead now, but I cant confirm this at any more sources!

Edit: atleast the headline does, theres still no mention of it in the report, just the claimed '2 confirmed dead' i wish we could get some better journalism from them lol

Edit Edit: "Sky News crime correspondent Martin Brunt said the figures, which could rise, were from a reliable, but unofficial source." finally they have updated the report to address this new info

33 Confirmed dead (Sky have lowered thier report to match), with the most it sounds like at Kings Cross (over 20), 300 injured, but some reports go over 1000, transport systems will be effected throughout the night

I'm watching a london emergency services. There saying 30 confirm dead. However, the last bus bombing they don't have a death count yet but it was high. Over 300 have been injured. 45 are confrim serious. No claims to the police who did this but one site on the web is taking the claim. They said they are going to try and get some buses moving, but most will have to walk home. They plan to have the underground open tommorow. They are asking that people go home in stager fashion? I guess you guys know what that means?

I'm so so sorry guys. And my prayers are with you.

Half of the tube should be reopened by tonight, only uneffected lines though, shuttle services at both end of the picidilly, the metropolitan north of baker street, east and west ends of the central line, etc, most of the central stations will remain unopened until tomorrow, or even monday

this semi service should help ease the load
also buses have started entering zone one again, but a full service cant resume until the police corderns are shrunk

The bus was completely shredded, I expect the reports from that to be some of the worst, although apparantly the kings cross blast affected 3 trains when it blew through a wall between tunnels,

Edit: the bomb effecting 3 trains was at Edgeware road, killing 5, not Kings Cross as mentioned above

They are saying that the main cell phone provider there is giving part of their service to the emergency people and is one reason why cells phone are not working. The other one is just an overload.

    Stay strong guys.

Telephone traffic -- particularly by cell phone -- was nearly impossible. London's largest cellular provider, Vodaphone, said it had devoted much of its network to emergency services, causing the problems with subscribers.

I got it from cnn. I can provide the link it came from. But I didn't know if that would be kosher or not and I don't want to upset anyone more than you guys are .

We got an email about it at work, as our mobile provider is Vodafone.

They had a system in place for emergencies like this, where it blocks/redirects telephone calls so that emergency services/urgent telephone calls can get through quicker. Because the throughput in London is then lower, because external calls can't get through, you should be easier able to make calls.
