Some people see absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's a mindset. If you've been taught all your life that it's acceptable to study "past papers", then they don't know there's anything wrong with it.

Of course, you'd think that anyone with a lick of intelligence and/or logic would figure out that merely studying past exams doesn't enable you to actually do a job... ...that's why the vendors call it what it is: cheating.

thats true actually, I know a lot of subjects at school have you doing past GCSE papers as practice for the proper things, although the questions are always different so i dont think in my example it gives a cheating advantage, such as maths, having old questions makes you do the working out but doesnt allow you to cheat in future because the numbers and examples will be different.

I know thats not the case for the A+ and so 'past papers' are not a valid revision material, but its bed time and i thought id write an essay

Revising old exams IS a worthwhile thing because it trains you how to think about the questions ie. LEARNING TO READ THE QUESTIONS, which is a problem for me because I tend to just look at the question and click the first thing that looks right:oops:.

Just my 2p worth which is just of that value:)

Problem is... that's considered cheating by the certification vendors... because past exams contain current exam questions!!

And Rightly it should it be considered cheating, The problem is people blur the line between 'practice questions' provided companies such as Transcender and the actual exam questions.

I'm of the old school, When you cheat the only person your cheating is yourself.

And don't even get me started on GCSE's and school exams.......

True, but there's a huge difference between practice questions that cover the content... and actual exam content that is a cut-and-paste of the actual exam - graphics and all - with only the company names in the scenarios changed (typically to the name of the dump company). How people can make comparisons between Transcender and a dump is absolutely astounding. :blink
