Ok i reformatted my HD and i used a copied cd of an original cd that was legally mine etc, the reaon i copied it was the original disc was scratched to hell. Now i wrote the original hey down as well but iove made a **** up and now ive got to contend with the WGA tool which is really getting on my nerves.

Is there any way i can get aroundf this

Windows doesnt care what Cd you install it from, as long as the type of CD and the type of key match
if it let you install then you used a valid key for the CD
all you need to do then is activate it

its VERY unlikely that a small **** up on the key would of let you install it as the keys are generally somewhat more unique than that

Activate the product, if you have problems call MS support and they can assist with the re activation

 

Yes and it's worth knowing that if you ring them, they will not want any personal identifying information from you - all you need to do is convince them that you are not using a pirated copy and that you are not breaking their term of use, ie trying to install an OEM product on a different system etc.
