    Hi

    I am based in Poole.

I have been doing lots of research etc on the CCNA and the overwhelming concensus is to take your time and not to cram. You will probably fail...

I have decided to do the CCNA through the Open University. Not expensive, you have a tutor and support group when you get stuck, plus the CCNA is a 2nd level course worth 60 points so if you get the study bug you can tally up the points and end up with a degree! ;-) Plus studying with the OU it adds a little extra to your CV.

I have also setup http://cisco-certification.ning.com/ where I plan to keep my notes etc, and my mate is also going to start the CCNA and he will use the site.

Regarding the ebay pre built labs, I done a lot of research on what gear to get and I have found 2 things. Te cost is usually a lot higher than source ing the individual components and there is usually at least one device which is below spec. After much research and forum posting I finally have my shopping list.

Finally - simulators. Do a search and you will find all CCNA's don't recommend them. They have missing features and commands. Always try and get real hardware.
