I didn't see the first one but I thought the 2nd and 3rd ones were a bit rubbish I thought the plot was pants and the acting a bit weak. So it's pretty much a typical Dr Who episode. Hope the Darleks are in the new series.

The problem with the acting in most series at the start is because they film the first couple of episodes first and then film the pilot episode so it appears to be well acted. Doing it this way means the actors have had a chance to settle into their roles. The public then see the pilot episode and think, wow that was great. After the fourth or fifth episode the acting will improve markedly.

So how about the episode on Saturday then. What about that darlek. Thought it was pretty good and let you into a bit more of the past of the Doctor that they seem to be keeping from us, "the Time Wars".

Was hoping a bit more from the Darleks but I suppose it would be flooging a dead horse so to speak.

Yeah its a shame, i liked the old DR who grand scale conflicts with U.N.I.T and such, its a shame there wont be any more daleks, they really were something everyone remembers about Dr. Who.

The series dosnt take itself too serious, thats a good thing imo however its bound to annoy hardcore fans (anaraks wearers who scream THE DR CANT WEAR LEATHER!!!!!) but it makes it a good series, lighthearted semi-comedy thing, and best of all its brittish.

At the end of the day, it's all good...
I'm a long time Dr Who fan. The only thing wrong with this one is that they try and cram a whole story into 45 mins (with one exception). I used to enjoy the cliff hangers, a story used to run over three or four 25 min episodes.
It's funny to note that despite all modern technology, the BBC stuff still manages to look c**p. Compare it to Farscape and Star Trek! Mind you, budgets are different. But apparently Chris was paid a £600,000 salary for appearing. Not bad if you can find the work...
Much liking the new look Dalek.

lol - not at all m8 - I was agreeing with you :)

We all love that "shabby" BBC look - just that it's more expensive to achieve these days. Don't worry - no toes were stepped on in the making of this Thread :D

I agree, The beeb really cant do sci-fi. I am a big sci-fi nut, my all time favourite being Babylon 5. And what about the cancelling of the next series of Enterprise, man what idiot decided not to make another series ?? They have done this far to often in recent years, they cancelled Farscape, thankfully the fans kicked up such a fuss they made the Peacekeeper Wars episodes to tie up the story. They cancelled Dark Angel, just as it was getting good, and why is there no second series of Firefly ? They better not drop Stargate Atlantis, thats such a good spin off from the original. I will stop now...

I can't believe he's leaving after one season.
If I was cynical I would say he's used Dr Who to spring-board his career. That's not what it was about.
Did anyone else notice the obvious improvement to the Dalek, that it can swing it's centre part around quickly to shoot backwards? The old ones used to have to do a three point turn to kill someone behind them...
Daleks and Cybermen were always my favorites. Considering Cybermen were supposed to be emotionless, they always seemed to get excited about killing people. Ho Hum.

Theres no second series of Firefly because Fox are incompetants when it comes to Sci Fi, sure they can throw it out, but they dont support it when its there, Firefly got dumped in a friday night slot, with out of order screenings (the pilot that explains the characters was shown last)

Fortunatly there is a movie coming out in september, and if all goes well someone may pick up the show for a second season (fingers crossed)

Yeah, in my excitement I didn't explain myself properly. The beeb cannot make good sci-fi, all the best stuff comes from across the pond, and gets cancelled from there too. On the subject of the BBC and great tv, they introduced us to the fantastic show 24, but how come this current series and the last one are on Sky 1 ? not that I mind, the format is for each show to be an hour in the day of Jack Bower, on the BBC each show only lasted 45 minutes, cos they have no adverts. The rumour was they 'forgot' to put in a bid to show season 3. Don't know if its true, but I prefer it on Sky anyway.

Nope :), close, but not quite...
Maybe I should though, bad hair :afro

Nope. It was a moment of weirdness last night. I clicked my back button (fnar) before the page had loaded and your avatar was replaced by Buffy the vampire slayer!
I have been trying to recreate the effect all day to no joy.

I know what happened there. I have an animated version of my avatar I was trying to upload to the forum, however my lousy labelling system led me to upload the wrong file. I used to post at a celebrity pics forum, the pic you saw was of my favourite Hollywood actress Jessica Alba. I corrected my error quite quickly, seems it wasn't quick enough :) I hope to get the correct animated avatar up here soon, I may have to trim the file size a bit, not sure what the max file size is for an avatar.
