Do you think on premise server will eventually die out?

    Do you think the cloud will eventually put an end to on premise servers and soon they will be a thing of the past kids will joke about?

    I doubt it mate although network speeds in a country is the key enabler so as these increase, it becomes more feasible. That said even with the rise of the cloud, branch office caching servers and RODCs etc mean onsite servers will be here for many years to come

    Still plenty of situations where on premise will always win, but do see a further increase in cloud based systems over the years (stating the obvious there I know lol).

    On-prem will always be around – hybrid designs seem to be the solution now after all the hype of cloud computing.
