He's probably quite busy cleaning up at the moment.

 

I've PMed him and not heard back yet. Hope he's OK - apparently the hurricane caused some damage, but not on the wholesale destruction level of some of the earlier ones this season.

 

We can't assume the worst, but I know what you mean, Lee. We'll just have to wait and pray.

 

I saw some reports on it, I agree with nugget he's probably got his dustpan & brush out.

 

I sure do pray that that is all he needed.

I didn't realize I was missed! Thank you so much for all your concern everyone, I feel rather humbled reading your posts.

All is well here. We took a bit of a knock here on Grand Cayman but by a bizarre twist of fate, the Sister Islands (Cayman Brac and Little Cayman) took a direct hit at Category 4 strength. The storm veered east of Grand Cayman as it approached, I live on the West Coast; we felt the least impact.

When we got home some of the rooms had been flooded and a few bits a pieces blew off but our apartment held up rather well overall. It took some time to clean up, we're still getting rid of the damp smell (ugh). Work has been very busy too. It's been non-stop running around getting our clients up and running again but it's calming down now. Thankfully we've a 4 day week this week as yesterday was a public holiday. Roll on the weekend!

I've attached photos that are doing the rounds here this morning. They show some of the damage caused on Cayman Brac. I have no pictures of Little Cayman but according to news reports 90% or more of the island has been destroyed. Right now ROyal Navy ships are out at both islands delivering aid to residents. On Cayman Brac practically the entire island has been left homeless.

Glad ya ok mate, i did hear on the radio they were evacuating some of the Caymans, and thought of you then. Glad it wasnt quite as bad as all that for ya. But still worse than what we get here in the UK.
