    Hi Mike

    I was also looking for a 'spare' computer to stick in my quickly growing lab.

    And you can't do any worse than having a look on ebay.

    I got a PIII 1ghz ,15gb HD, 256 RAM Dell machine for £40 with all the trimmings (keyboard, monitor, mouse, tomato's etc..) and is perfect for all the experiment work.

    Have a look and see if you can pick up a bargain.

    Read the link from AMD I posted. :biggrin It talks a lot about the pads.

    Most heatsinks these days are sold with pads, but pads are a 'one-time item'. Once used they cannot be reused.

    Good computer shops will have spares. I know that Maplins stocks them.
