    As the title states really!

I have noticed that sometimes machines appear with their name and sometimes by IP on the domain controller from within computer management > sessions.

    Just curious...

    Hmmm, most odd.

On one of my DC's they show the FQDN as the computer connected, and on another they're shown by IP.

I wonder why that is? :blink

    Boyce,

Is it possible that the computers listed by IP are either Microsoft computers without a computer account in the domain or non-Microsoft computers?

    Hi,

Thanks for the replies. No, all computers are part of the domain and run MS operating systems.
