Well, after nearly two and a half years of trying to prove the benefits of having certifications with my employer they finally gave in and have agreed to fund training for CompTIA certifications.

I tried to get them to go for Vender certs, i.e. Microsoft, but they said that they would prefer netural ones, so CompTIA it is! And they said that after looking at them they aren't bothered which ones, or how many we get!

They have agreed to fund £400 per year to technical staff to pay for exams and training materials. Not much when you consider the cost of exams, but we should be able to do at least two exams each per year.

The ICT Technician has already gone out and ordered his A+ books!

The only problem for me though is they said as they have already funded my degree I must finish it before I can do any certs

Roll on next May then!
