    Hi guys,

you might remember i was completing the cisco IT essentials level 2, which im told is exactly the same as the a+. Well that is now passed and ive just signed up for the CCNA via cisco's netacademy.

It doesnt start till the end of the month, what can i do to prepare a little? Anything i should be buying? Routers, switches etc?

    Thanks all

    Buy these:
    CCNA 1 & 2
    CCNA 3 & 4

They are the official text books for the course, and the online academy tests map to them.

I have to say though that they are quite dry reading.

It may do yes, but what you could buy instead is a copy of Boson Net Sim. This will allow you to simulate PC's, Routers, Switches.
It also had labs for CCNA included in it.

    I'm using this company:

    Mindtech

$9 for 10 50 minute slots using the CCNP racks- the CCNA racks ($5 for 10 50 minute sessions) are heavily booked up so I paid the extra $4 for CCNP which has more routers/switches to play with.
