Yes, but London isn't that far or long from Brum on the train, and if you don't want to pay to stop over you can just get a day return ticket (may only cost £30 or so on a Saturday) and spend the afternoon.

Come on peeps, let's have the biggest GTG yet - the UK isn't that massive, as Raffaz holds testament to!! You antisocial bleeders :biggrin

Saturday April 4th? I'll have to try to get a shift swap to do that day meself (scheduled to do my glorious Sunday AM shift on the 5th) but if most people can make that date, then that date it can be?

    Yeah, a hotel :)

No seriously, the centre of London is probably going to be quite expensive (Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square) but that's probably where all the (equally expensive) night life is going to be.

My suggestion would be to stop somewhere slightly off (but the only place I can suggest is the location of my old office, much to Harry's horror) and we can either hit the pubs around there or tube it to where the action is and catch a cab back to the hotel later in the night.

The Travellodge or IBIS near Liverpool Street Station will set you back IRO £85, as will the one near Euston station. The Farringdon Travellodge is £81, but is not as flexible (I don't think) regards to the tubes you can get, though I'm guessing Bank station isn't a long walk from the hotel.

For some insane reason the London City Road travellodge is showing up as £19. To be quite frank, if this IS a correct price, I suggest we mass-book it immediately and just meet up in the station to convoy in a taxi to the hotel - as there'll be a massive saving between us. And let's face it, whilst I hate Travellodge's to the extreme, we'll be spending most of the time in a pub.

I've got it booked in to try and get down there, but I will be on the train there and back again (or maybe a late train to Luton and then drive back from there)

All I can say Raff is our London friends haven't come forward with any suggestions to meet up.

Suggestions for what to do. You could always pop over to Northampton 8)

I would be up for that, though on a different weekend (maybe even May now) as I'm working on Sunday 5th, moving house on Saturday 11th, and going on holiday the weekend after...
