Hi everyone, keep up the good work.

    Todays query:

In my course, i have come to a point that mentions this cert, but my question is "Do i need it?" i mean i don't think i need it, i'm relatively computer literate, but can someone explain the details of what it is about, i get the gist, but "Is it necessary?"

    Thank you!

If you are already computer literate, then I would say "no". The IC3 certification is a level 1 cert, equivalent to GCSE level at grades D-G, this would be the certificate that you'd go for before the ECDL part 1. And like the ECDL, it is a user qualification and not a technical certification.

I took and passed the IC3 certification without really studying, in fact I only took it so that I could apply for the IC3 Authorised Instructor's certification.

However if you want to build up your CV, go for it. It can't hurt :)
