CCNA study - Cisco virtual lab problem

I bought the Cisco CCNA test prep from Cisco. I've read through the study guide and now am in the virtual lab."Perform Basic Switch configuration" and when I use the CLI and put in the IOS line "sh ip int brief" I get an error and the caret is under the "i" in ip. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
