Have decided my next step is going to be finally certifiying myself in Cisco now, that Ive done the MCSA, I have had some experience of cisco kit when working for a hardware reseller a couple of years back, but recent jobs haven't had such need so will look at getting some cheap hardware to practice on and refresh the memory.

    Couple of questions

Will these 2 books be enough, or should i look at others as well (I claim books as expenses so have a reasonable budget):
CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide (CCENT Exam 640-822 and CCNA Exam 640-802) (Exam Certification Guide)
CCNA ICND2 Official Exam Certification Guide (CCNA Exams 640-816 and 640-802) (Hardcover)

Do these come with virtual switch/router sims so i don't need the hardware? Or can these be downloaded.
    Are their any recommended CBTs?

On the cisco site is says

    http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/current_exams/640-802.html

    or

    http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/current_exams/640-822.html
    http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/current_exams/640-816.html

Does that mean i can do one larger exam or 2 smaller ones?

The requirements seem doable, so I think this wont be be too much of a problem, but just want to be clear.

Finally i guess signing up with the CCNA Prep Center is a a must?

    Thanks

    Kev

To my knowledge, those books do not come with router sims. Those are pretty expensive - they wouldn't be giving them away in a $50 set of books, as they usually cost several times that!

Yes, you can get the CCNA by taking the single 640-802 exam, or by taking the two-exam route of ICND1 (640-822) and ICND2 (640-816). The two-exam route will also get you the CCENT certification after you pass ICND1; you won't get the CCENT by passing the single CCNA exam.
