Well whether he does or does not, you did a great job, this is the type of experience you want to to have. Shows the A+ is helping in some ways:biggrin

They'd need to look at ISP logs for the date in question, they'd probably need police or similar backing. The company sounds like its certainly at risk of possibly breaking a few rules itself, virus writing is against the law for instance. So I can't see what possible case they could have, if they want to charge for a service there should be an upfront transaction.

My thoughts exactly, they dont have his name, they dont have his house address so even if they wanted to bill him they cant, also I dont think somewhere would go to the expense of the police n stuff for 40 quid.

This MBR bill came up every two seconds wether you were on the internet and in my eyes that is a virus if it came to it I would go to court to say that its a virus and see how they like it then.

but I dont think it will come to anything

well im glad u got rid of it mate, just be wary in case it does come back with a vengeance...at least now you are prepared for it. MBS, however, will say what they are doing is in no way a form of a virus. Its their only way of getting their money from people who "accidentally click" on the pages they provide a service for. Which is totally cr@p if you ask me, cos at the end of the day, you have sabotaged someone's PC without their knowledge and it stops them using their PC as it then becomes useless to them. Wrong, totally wrong...so I hope someone does take them to court and they get taken down. Im just waiting on my new edition of PC Advisor to see whats been going on.

I am sure it will be ok

I cant see them persuing it over 40 quid, it would cost them too much to do that.

    Anyway thanks again people :D
