    Did it slide in effortlessly?
Also there may be a locking leaver next to the socket that you'll need to lift to allow cpu removal.

*Was* this a working computer before you dismantled it?

I hope you lifted the lever to remove the CPU Prof otherwise the legs can get pulled off

rite you are, depends on wether it was a LIF or ZIF socket, Obviously the socket you inserted the CPU into was a ZIF(zero insertion force) socket, if it were a LIF socket(limited insertion force) socket, a specialist tool is required. This is for future reference of course, :biggrin
