Hi I've just bought the first MS press book for the 70/271 exam from Amazon but can't find anywhere that have the 2nd "MCDST Self–Paced Training Kit (Exam 70–272) – Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on Microsoft Windows XP 2e"

I wanted to buy the first for the XP trial on CD rather than getting a used one only to find the trial already used up

Would a 2nd hand version of the 70/272 book be ok? If not anyone know where there is one in stock, all the online retailers are found are temporarily out - which normally means they are not getting them back!

I had the exact same problem. There is a trial cd with the 271 which are still in stock at some places, the 272 will just have to be bought off eBay.

 

If you have a machine with Windows 7 on, you could use Windows XP mode, save yourself a bit of money

I didn't know you could download vm with Xp - that saves a bit of hassle!!
I have Windows 7 pro so that is good.

I wanted the 272 book for the book rather than the CD though!! I have found some new ones on ebay - don't know why I didn't look there in the first place

 

I have the Mspress 70-272 book for sale, its just the 1st edition though. Not sure what the difference is.

If you're after an evaluation copy of XP (or Vista) you can download one of the free VHD images from Microsoft:
