Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Yes, i can't wait :biggrin

The position is for IT support. The company plan to do a fair bit of expansion in the near future and i will be the one to learn about it and maintain it too!

Keep you all posted, thanks for your thoughts, appreciated! :biggrin

Hey Boyce may i ask how many positions you applied for in total during the course of your job hunting?

And did you apply direct to companies mostly or did you try going through agencies too?

I've applied for 47 positions so far, without a single interview being offered  . Am i doing something seriously wrong here or is this statistically average? :blink

    Cheers

    Arisen,

I have lost count of how many jobs i have applied for.

Most people don't even bother to write back to say no thanks, which doesnt boost confidence. :(

I have applied for a few jobs with agencies and one sounded promising. He said of all the people I was the only one with a cert, genuinely interested and prepared to work for the lowest money. I thought i was in with a chance but never heard any more! When i tried to contact the bloke at the agency he was always in a meeting, out, lunch or on the toilet!

The best advice i can give you is too keep trying. Try and get as much experience as you can. If it means working for someone for a few hours a day or one whole day for free then it will help as it did in my case. It seems backwards but think of spending thousands on a training provider to have the same problem. At least you have lost some wages but gained vital experience.

Best of luck, don't let it get you down :thumbleft
Let me know how you get on.
