Boss being awkward about me leaving

    Congrats on your new job bambino. I can understand your boss not being happy to see you go as an asset but his reaction is very unproffessional and uncalled for (he is in no position to expect you to remain in the same job just because he says so). Hope your transition out of the current job goes well.

    Well so much good advice has already been given!

    Just play it cool and work out your termination period.

    Also as long as you dont have an exclusive use clause in your new job there is nothing to stop you doing contract work out of hours/on the weekends for your old employer....at a favourable rate to you of course! :biggrin :biggrin

    Exactly.

    You and the employer signed a contract agreeing to those terms.

    As per your contract, you have submitted notice of your intention to end that contract and leave their employment.

    There is nothing more to discuss mate - your boss is full of shite.
