So i just got a new phone from work, and i went for the 9300 - my 8900 was old and dead.

Got it yesterday, and it seems very, very tacky and plastic, the resolution is crap, the new Blackberry OS6 is quite cool, but it seems the whole thing is quite cheap, has anyone used one of these?

Also, the other choice i had was an HTC Desire S - which i think i may swap it for, has anyone got one of these or used one? i've read up some reviews and it seems quite a decent phone - can anyone recommend? i've never used android phones before so would be a new one for me

    Any advice appreciated!

I don't know what the 9300 is like, however I love my Wildfire (the little brother of the Desire) over the iPhone.

I would like to switch my BB to something else to be honest... the only thing that's keeping me on the BB is the Blackberry messenger. If they port it over to the android, I'd get that right away... I have friends that have the HTC and they prefer it over the BB as well.

I loved my HTC Touch Dual, until I realised that I didn't miss a keypad.
Switched to a Wildfire, never been happier!

Only reason I still have my 9700 is for it's battery life(also got a touch for my apple fix :))

My wife has just got the Desire S and it's fantastic (big improvement on the Desire in terms of design and the 2.3 Android software).

My only experience with Blackberry's is setting them up for people at work but in my opinion the Desire S would be a much better choice.

The 9700 and 9780 are pretty decent on battery life

I had the original HTC Desire for a few months, but soon got tired of the touch screen keyboard. I send/write emails and texts a fair bit.

Switched to the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and have been impressed ever since - having previously used the Bold 9000, I knew what to expect.

User preference I guess, but the lower-end BlackBerry's are not a patch on the Bold.
