Best starter Certifications for IT Newbies

Seriously, thanks guys for the cerebral realignment. I hope the comment about 'hands dirty and minds dirty' didn't offend. I was not implying either party worked more or less, just where their skill sets lay.

I feel the A+, Network+, (MSDST) MCSA, MCSE route is a good 'start.' Just see where it gets me....

I'm off to feed horses and annoy another section of the wider community...

CompTIA has a certification which is actually lower than the A+. STRATA is being advertised as the lead-in to the A+ certification and is a great place to start.
