    Nothing wrong with that mate you love it and know your stuff. In our place the majority of our architects aren't hands on so it's been weird for me. Other places they are hands on. It's a good route to take mate, would you fancy it? Lot more paper work but the broadness of what I'm learning is good. I hope one day to just see green lines like the matrix ha ha

    I don't know mate, if I am honest with you seeing the big picture is great but the paper work side of it would probably bore me to tears :(

    At times it is a pain. My visio skills are being dragged up to scratch. I suppose the only perk is the broadness of what I cover but also being home based. Most of our guys stay at home. It does shave a lot off the old travel costs

    I hear you, I commute just over 3 hours a day at the moment, being home based would be a real bonus for me.

    Save you a fortune too mate. You know me mate, I'm nothing if not honest, I wasn't sure on this role at all at first as I love getting my hands dirty, but being able to roll out of bed, kettle on and start work has really started to win me over. I'm starting to get free time again, something I don't feel I've had much of for years

    True but at the moment my commute is £70 a week (tank of diesel), it's the payment on the car that's killing me these days (but I do love my car :))

    Add to the fact that my wife is a child minder and I have to be honest and say that the idea of working from home really wouldn't be my first choice.

    Ha ha I hear you mate, it's been a bit tricky with my kids being off and me being in work. Not terrible but if I've got a customer call I let them know just in case! £70 isn't too bad is it but I can imagine the motor drains you a little mate, it's a beast that thing. Get a job from home, sell the car and buy a house to rent out! Sure it would still cost less ha ha!

    Jim, I LOVE my cars, I wouldn't sell this unless it was really a requirement. Too much hardwork has gone in to owning a beast like that.

    That's fair dues my mate. I used to have a nice motor but I've gone so tight in my old age, the running costs got on my nerves. Well that and it was a bit of a stretch for me at the time. Bricks and mortar all the way for me now. I would love a boat but we will see. I feel like I've wasted a lot of my early money on cars so I've turned on them a little for now. Sure I'll change my tune one day. I love the hud thing on yours. Very neat

    The HUD is the one thing stopping me from getting the GTR, I love that car but man the HUD on mine is awesome and I would struggle to get on without it.

    Has anyone self studied for this exam - I don’t think I’d need to take the course and would like to self study but there doesn’t seem to be a book I can study from.
