I have just bought a Large USB hard drive and I want to take an image of both my XP and Vista partitions and back up my data drives.

I was thinking of investing in some software, ghost or acronis home editions seam quite popular and reasonably priced.

I was wondering what backup software you guys use for your home set up and if you have any recommendations.

I use Cobian Backup to backup to USB drives and Mozy for offsite backup ($5 a month for unlimited data, well worth it IMO)

Thanks for the suggestions so far, any more? I'm particularly looking for a solution that works with vista and able to to take an image.

We use a piece of software at work that allows you to make backups/mirrors of drives and then mount then. I'll find out what it is and get back to you ;)

Edit: It's called DriveSnapshot- you can get it here.

Well, you could try Nero Backit Up one of the features on Nero software. Just bing it. Works pretty well on Vista.

I've used Acronis in the past, and it seemed to work fine.
