    I'm back again. I have been very busy the last two months and after I wanted to return to the forum I could not login anymore. Had something to do with cookies. Well OK, I'm back.

    Hi Tinus, I notice you are a CEH which is what I'm hoping to be at some stage. I don't suppose you could give me some advice on it coud you pretty please?

    First, to all of you, thanks for the warm welcome. Makes you feel at home.

    @wagnerk: Aliens? Why? I'am an alien...:biggrin (who else has calculation by hard as a hobby :blink)

    @jk2447: I did the official course. The only way to take the exam is/was connected to a official course. CEH is a course a mile wide and an inch deep. You will see lots off tools and ways to "hack" a system and/or to bypass the system. You will also see ways to hide files from peeking eyes. The course is, in my opinion, more to open your eyes to ever what kind of tricks a hacker could use to infiltrate into your system; more than a course to protect your system.
    I think the better course is the second in the row: penetration tester.

    @AJ: No problem for the roundabout. Glad you gave me the clue to get posting here again.

    Thanks very much Tinus, thats everything I wanted to know! You can do self learn but have to fax over a signed form from your manager to say you have worked in an IT security capacity for 2 years. I actually joined a security specific forum and didn't even get a reply so thanks very much. James
