I am writing a brief study guide for the AWS Certified Security – Specialty exam which I recently sat and passed. I used the following two books:

AWS Certified Security Specialty All-in-One Exam Guide

AWS Certified Security – Specialty Exam Guide: Build your cloud security knowledge and expertise as an AWS Certified Security Specialist (SCS-C01)

AWS also provides free access to many of their services on AWS which I would recommend using for studying for the exam. Also, AWS provides some good practice questions. I used a combination of my experience, the books, the exams the come with the books and AWS services to prepare for the exam.

I felt the exam was quite difficult, the questions were very long and wordy, requiring several reads through to fully understand and answer the questions. The material I used covered most of the exam content but was a few areas not covered. Also, what was different was you do not get a pass\fail right away and can take up to 5 days to receive. I would recommend the exam and study material I used for anyone that is interested in AWS security and passing the certification.
