    Hi All,

Just wanted to share some good news with you all... Found out over the weekend that Comptia have awarded me 3 new certifications and have backdated it :)

Considering that I haven't been concentrating on professional certifications recently, it was a nice surprise:

    1. The Comptia IT Operation Specialist
    2. The Comptia Secure Infrastructure Specialist, and
    3. The Comptia Network Infrastructure Professional.

It's kinda got me thinking about either the Comptia CySA+ and or the CASP+

I got sent some as well, but really I think it is just a marketing gimmick. They call them Stackable certifications and really they are just giving them to you as you already have certain other certifications and they combine them and say here is a new certification.

Any cert they give you for doing nothing is of little value to me. However the fact you said you are now thinking of doing the CySA+ and or the CASP+ shows the marketing plan is working :)

I don't mind them tbh, after all we've paid for them (in exam fees, books, CBT, training, etc) - it's nice to get something for "free", haha :D

But seriously the concept of "stackable" certifications isn't a new thing... On the professional certifications, CISCO (CCENT -> CCNA) and Microsoft (too many to list) have been doing them for years. Then there is the academic track (HNC/CertHE -> HND/FdSc/FdA/DipHE -> BA/BSc and the PGCert -> PGDip -> MA/MSc/MBA)

TBH, it's either going to be the CySA+ and or the CASP+ or the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate - it doesn't really matter to me which one as the next job I want to go for lists both of them as a requirement (you only need to have one of them).
