Asked my boss for a promotion!

So, last Friday I got gutsy and asked my boss for a promotion.

A little background: The position that I was hired into is very entry level, the decsription basically reads that I handle basic support from written knowledgebeses, etc. At the moment, I'm the only onsite support for over 50 users, two servers, two networks, etc. I exercise independent judgement the majority of the time, and only utilize outside support when necessary (which isn't very often). I've built a domian controller and last weekend I installed an autoloader. So, I thought it was time to move up.

I wrote up a long justifcation as to why I thought that I could perform the duties of the position, and accomplishments that prove my case. I started the conversation by asking my boss how I was doing (he doesn't work in our office, I get to see him once every 3-4 months). He gave me rave reviews, couldn't think of anything that I could improve on; so I went for the gold. He said that he would pass it on to the CIO for approval, so I'm really excited.

This would mean a nice bump in salary, plus they've already agreed to pay for course training for my MCSA, which I'm starting in January.

I think a person knows when they are ready for a promotion and it strikes me that our Goddess was in that position. The fact that she only sees her boss once in a blue moon meant that she had to make the point now or wait another three months. I don't believe that metalic spherical appendages come into play here.
