Apple Mac's + linux

    I've got a MacBook its the bottom of the range one.

    As I'm not a gamer I can't really say what they're like, but I think that if I were a gamer I'd still rather have a PC over a Mac.

    First - as pointed out - MacOS is now FreeBSD. With a bit of care you can run any *BSD and many Linux apps on it. Some of them will need some config changes.

    As for *booting* other OSes - this is much harder. The new Intel based Macs use a new BIOS system which the rest of the world doesn't recognise (yet). There are moves about to force this new system on the PC world - but we all know how successful such moves have been in the past!

    As a *huge* amount of Linux isn't actualy specific to Linux, but is *nix generic I'd get under the hood a bit, rather than trying to run Linux on the beast!
