Just reminiscing of my child/teen years and the music that I use to listen to, anyone remember the bands like (not going the list the bigger names like GnR, Bon Jovi, etc):

    1. Whitelion
    2. Skid Row
    3. Mr Big
    4. Lighthouse
    5. Poison

There a few more, but I can't think of the band names. If you haven't guessed, I was a headbanger back then - is that term even still used?

What bands did you grow up with?

I saw Sebastian Bach a few years back supporting GnR, absolutely amazing he was, too bad half the audience didn't know who he was...saying that, i didn't recognise him at all until he started singing '18 and Life'.

Loved them too, was amazed when they recorded with the Symphony Orchestra. The combination of heavy rock with "classic" music as it were :)

Didn't Metallica do Exstacy Of Gold live somewhere?

edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zm7EeuWnc-8 , one of the best songs Metallica have ever performed, as well as the classics of course.

    Skid Row
    Poison
    Twisted Sister

As well as the some of the bigger bands etc.

For the last few weeks I've been playing a W.A.S.P album (constantly) in the car on the way to and from work.

That was one band that I couldn't remember. The first album that I got into from DL was: Adrenalize followed by Visualize (so 92/93 time) :)

My tastes from the 70's, 80's & 90's has always been mainly electronic / synth etc.. but I do like some rock bands. Guns & Roses, Queen, ELO, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails to name a few.

I'll listen to anything really, from ultra cheesy pop to hardcore industrial synth. No point pigeon holing yourself into one genre I suppose. :)

My favorite all time band is Depeche Mode though. Still as much as a fan now as I was in the 80's. Hence the name ... :)
