    Try these:

I don't really subscribe to magazines as such but if you work in the IT industry and you have any responsibility at all for evaluating or recommending technologies in your company, you can apply for a free subscription and usually get it. The idea for the publisher is that you'll be influenced by the magazine's articles and ads and so it's a good investment on their part. Some will stop after a year or require that you re-subscribe. There have been some annual re-subscribe notices I've just ignored and continued to receive the publications for years afterwards.

I have been a subscriber for over a year now. they have good reviews, tips and tricks and great articles that tackle whats going on in the real world. And their forums are quite helpful too. :biggrin

the only problem with magazines is their cost and if you regularly read news online they're out of date especially if theyre sold monthly

However there are times when you like to get away from a computer screen for a while and read something sitting on your sofa comfortably.

Depends what your after from them?
Most have a good asortment of various free software on either CD or DVD each month.
I suggest you take a look for a few months and then decide which title you like.

i tend to read and takes notes as it helps me to remember if i have to write it down. also it compresses what i dont know into an easy revision guide at the end. i tend to feel tired if i'm forcing my self to read but if i'm really into it i don't find it a problem.

grim how come he didnt get bullied for not punctuating .
