Another one of those days!

Well thats it i've had another one of those days. You know what i mean, the sort of days where you wished you stayed in bed.

1st off when i left for work i nearly left me lunch box behind. Then when i got in the car i stalled it reversing out of the parking space.

2nd while at work, i spent 1/2 hour looking for a stick of memory i'd taken out of a unit to test and placed on my desk, only to find it wasn't there when i needed to put it back. Turns out i'd accidentaly filed it in my intray between some notes!

And then to top that off i managed to knock out the company network and phone system! Did this by looping some broadcast messages through a switch and a hub. Took 20 mins for our IT guys to sort it, especially when the senior one was off on holiday for the week!

And to top it all off i managed to stub my toe while getting out the bath tonight!! ah well hopefully tomorows gonna be better... or else i stay in bed!!!!!

I got my arse handed to me by an HP Pavilion 522n this morning.

Round two tomorrow.

 

All I want to know, do they realize your the one that knocked their network down? I would have crawed in a file cabinet and hid. Tomorrow will be better dude, hang in there.

 

Unfortunatley yes they did know, and as it happened just after lunch i had to put up with some stick for the rest of the day!!! And there was no where to hide!

Like mitzs says hang in there, hopefully today will be better. I had an odd day yesterday as well. Someone in the office decided to play an April fools trick by switching of the rocker switch on the PSU. Took me a millisecond to find that out! Then the Help Desk sent me on a wild Goose chase to someone who doesn't exist! I ended up in the car park

I had a user getting annoy that IT Dept had changed her password while she had been on holiday and that's why she could log into her computer, when infact her ID card was pushed into the card holder upside down by her!

Another one could get her computer to work because the the leads were not plugged into the wall.

An urgent call to say a user could not access the network or email. After arranging to meet them their in the office to look at the PC. I arrived at the office to find office was locked and no one around!


At this point I felt like I like going home

 

At least most of yours were caused by other ID10T users, mine were all self inflicted! Its different when its others that mess up , when its you it stays and haunts you for ever.

And today was no better. Got in to work to find out we had no emails over night. First person every one pinted the finger at was......ME! and i hadnt even sat down. Luckily it wasnt my fault this time, but again our IT guy was called in on his day off.
Then i sent 3 emails asking for files, only replying to the mails that already had the files attached!!
Made a cable for one of the others, only to find i'd wired it backwards so had to re-do it, wiring it backwards for the 2nd time!!!!
I've also unplugged the wrong unit on test and had to re-start long term testing on that no switched off unit which was half way through its cycle.
And to top that all off i walked out to the car only to realise i'd left me keys on the desk....

Sigh... i know this wekk will end sometime!

Jeeze Twizzle, what the hell is the matter with you? Its not like you to be off key like this. Did you get your girlfriend preggers? Come on spill it, something is bothering you. You know I will find out in the end because I will haunt you till you do. So tell me what it is so we can screw your head on back straight.

 

Thankfully no she is not preggers!!! God couldnt stick another brat.. i mean darling little child.

The only upside so far this week is that i had a call about a possible job elsewhere, more pay better hours etc. Only problem was the call took 20mins during work time and i had 2 calls from customers during that period that i had to ask my boss to take! (he didnt know why i was on my mobile, i just told him it was an important personal matter i had to deal with urgently!)

 

I have a right to moan Ence, my jobs not all that great and i'm expected to do everything at once when i'm the only one in the office!! that includes my normal roles, despatch, secretary for sales (no i dont wear high heels and fishnest for that, only in private!) and shove a broom where the sun dont shine so i can sweep the floors while i move!

BTW i know how you feel as i did spend 2 years out of work through no choice of my own and another 2 because i had to care for my kids, while everyone i knew had jobs. Just stick with it and keep plugging away.

While i moan about it i am thankful its money comming in.

 

Awww, mayb it the time change - he all confused. Bless ya Twizzle, perhaps you could go to bed an hour later than normal this evening - get your circadian rythms back in sync!

 

And while i think about it just to finish,,,,, i came home, sat down for 5 mins to have a drink then started tilling the bathroom, its now 20:5 and me missus still hasnt got me tea on table, i'm starving, dont know why i pay the slave you just cant get the staff these days!! </old bloke rant ended>

 

Yeah that didnt help this week, getting up an hour earlier! damn BST clock changes grrrr moan whine winge.....

I'm begining to wonder if it has more to do with the change of life, instead of the time change. Any hot flashes Twizzle?

 

No hot flashes but i will be 35 this year so pending mid life crisis! or i'm just getting senile a lil early.

Gee...sounds like the "slave" might have grounds for divorce. Said from one married guy to another.

Well i had to pay for my "Old man Rant" and got a discount due to age (costs more if your older).

"Tilling the bathroom" means exactly that, putting tiles up on the bathroom walls, we're in the midst of redecorating it with new bath, sink, tiolet, flooring and as off last night tiles! (probably just my bad spelling made you confused)

And as for being married, i was once and got divorced, now i just keep the latest one on as the "Hired Help" easier to sack should things go sour!
