    Good Morning Everyone

Please can anyone give some advice regarding moving from a service desk role into a desktop support role? What are the options available please?

    Thank You

Its hard to say because there could be many options and it usually depends on your existing situation. What worked for me and many others was to show a lot of interested and due diligence. Start learning stuff that would pertain to that role, do the entry level certifications, connect with the right people. Most of the time, its all about the opportunity, if you're in the right place at the right time with the right attitude, you can definitely secure a desktop support role.

Also, don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away, sometimes the timing could be bad, or maybe you're missing some experience that the client is looking for, just continue with your search and work on your skills. At some point you will get noticed and you will be presented with the opportunity you're looking for.
